Ladies Razor : Gillette Vs Veet hair removal

Veet or formerly known as Immac or Neet is a hair removal product by Reckitt Benckiser. When i started using hair removal products, i started with Neet. Back then it was one of the most well known hair removal products in Malaysia besides Sally Hansen. Few years down the road, Immac change its branding and change its name to VEET. Well , as a user (sorry to all Veet enthusiast!), i would personally say that besides packaging change, nothing much change in terms of the product.

  • It is still messy during application, and it requires you to follow the instructions stated on the bottle closely especially in terms of the time needed to leave on the cream on your leg before you start to remove it with the spatula/bladeless razor provided.
  • Sometimes, not all hair can be remove through one use and you need to wait after 24 hours to repeat the whole process again.

I would not say Veet is the best product for hair removing, but it is something i would use if i desperately need to remove the hair from my leg. …but i will definitely not use this to remove armpit hair. Another point is that, the hair that grow after the shave is slightly rough.

I remember there was once i won GILLETTE VENUS and ever since then, i have been a loyal user of it for hair removal. However, this razor was not as popular as Veet in Malaysia. Why?.. simply because girls have this mindset that Gillette = traditional cutting razor. It is only those who had try would know that GILLETTE VENUS for women is really different. It is NOT LIKE the traditional razor in which you need to keep changing the blade. I only need to change the blade say after 7-9 time of usage.

In a nutshell, i prefer using Gillette Venus because :

  • I do not need to use any cream on my leg to remove the hair. Hair removal can be done conveniently during bath with one hand holding the shower so that the water wet the skin while the other hand just shave through the hair.
  • It glides over my skin easily, leaving NO CUTS or razorburn. In fact, you will actually think that the razor is bladeless.
  • Most importantly, my SKIN IS SMOOTH after shave and it takes some time before the hair starts to grow again.
  • Since it doesn’t cut and skin is smooth after shave, i even use it to remove armpit hair !!
  • It is really convenient to get rid of the hair on leg especially during last minute when you suddenly remember you need to shave your legs for important appointment.

The plus point of this Gillette Venus is that the packaging is even designed with customer convenience in mind ! It comes with a little white plastic case holder, and when you open the case, there is space inside to store additional cartridges. The case has a holder on the front to hold the razor and you can attach a fitting (which is provided) on the back of the case so that you can have it on the wall in the shower. In fact, the cartridges come in their own little package, so they won’t get damp and rusty !

This is just a personal review of hair removal method for ladies that i would like to share. At the end of the day, it very much depends on personal preference. As for me, im looking for something which is safe, convenient, fast and MESS - FREE !!

Cooling your drinks : Temperature & Appearance

While i was browsing through the net, i came across icejacket.com. I find this item really good as it enable chilled vodka to be serve. Besides that, this jacket is also said to be able to hold a multitude of top shelf and super premium vodkas, tequilas and rums.

Ice Jacket is a mould that creates a layer of ice around your bottles. It is quite simple to use this item. Firstly, just as illustrated in picture 2 below, place the bottle on the base of the Ice Jacket, slip on the sleeve, and close the three cam locks. Then fill the mould with warm water (picture 3) and finally place it in the freezer (picture 4). Once you are ready to serve the vodka, run the mould briefly under water to release the cam locks and sleeve. And there you have it, an iced-encased bottle

In fact the creator had created the item with the users in mind. To avoid users dropping the slippery bottle, the plastic base of the Ice Jacket remains attached to the bottle and this enable users for simple one-handed pouring. In fact for users with smaller hands or those who have unsteady pouring technique, a mess-free pouring can be achieved by placing one hand on the base and the other around the bottle’s ice-free neck.

Many will be wondering what happens after a while when the sculptural ice layer begins to melt?? Will it cause a mess?? No doubt the Ice-Jacket was designed to remain out of the freezer for only a round or two among friends, replacing the icejacket in the freezer after use will allow for considerable longevity. In fact, it take some time before the sculptural ice layer can begin to melt because the booze within the bottle has been chilled to below 20°F. This keeps the Ice Jacket insulated from within.

Finally, when the sculptural ice layer begin to melt, it will not cause a mess as it melts into its own drip tray at a rate of about an ounce an hour.
